TCP/IP CONFIGURATION: WINDOWS XP

Note: Instructions below apply for both DHCP and Static Configuration. The Windows XP interface can be heavily customized. Example screens below may not necessarily match your customized interface.
  1. Click the Start button.




  2. Select Control Panel.




  3. Select Network and Internet Connections.




  4. Choose Network Connections.




  5. The Network Connections screen will show all installed connections. Choose the Local Area Connection and double-click.




  6. The Connection Status window will be displayed. Select Properties.




  7. In the Properties window, highlight Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and choose Properties




  8. For a DHCP configuration the screen should look similar to the one below




  9. For a statically defined configuration, choose Use the IP address and enter the IP information provided in the IP configuration Sheet mailed to you by DSL.net. (IP numbers shown below are for example only.)
